2010 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front disc brake pads on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Beginning the task requires you to securely lift the vehicle and install supports underneath. Mark where the wheel sits next to the hub centerline to keep steering straight. Then remove the front wheel. Braking system overhaul tasks do not require removal of the caliper from the car. Push up the caliper Piston housing through the lower bolt of the caliper assembly retaining frame. Be cautious of brake dust. Take off the brake pads and check their thinnest area. Place the new brake pads into the caliper and press the Piston inside only if needed during this process. Handle the Piston seal carefully to keep it from being damaged during the process. Place the caliper Piston housing back down then use the lower bolt to fix it to the retaining frame. Tighten it to 27 nm (20 lb ft). Fit front wheels back in place while the vehicle is back down after aligning both wheel marks.
