2010 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the TPMS Sensor on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The replacement process for the tire pressure indicator sensor begins with proper support of the vehicle during its elevation. Start by separating the tire from the wheel assembly after removing both components. First remove the torx screw followed by carefully pulling off the enclosure from the valve which requires cuts to the rubber bulb on the valve stem. Avoid touching the clear finish on aluminum wheels because scratches will create corrosion on their surface. The tire valve stem mounting tool must be attached to the valve stem before you pull it through the opening of the rim. During installation maintain your grip on the valve stem and avoid touching the snap-in enclosure to prevent screw over-torque. Secure the new tire pressure sensor snap-in enclosure to the valve stem and use a new torx screw to tighten it until the valve stem becomes active. Spray the gm goodwrench rubber lubricant original part number 12345884 on both the valve stem rubber section and the enclosure top. Place the sensor at the valve stem hole in the wheel before inserting the tire valve stem mounting tool to the proper notch to guide the valve stem and sensor parallel to the axis of the valve hole. Check that the tire pressure sensor has been installed properly by making sure the rubber bulb features direct contact with the wheel rim while the front side of the enclosure remains away from the rim. After installing the tire to the wheel you must affix the tire and wheel assembly back onto the vehicle. Complete the process by lowering your vehicle while setting up the tire pressure monitor system.
