2010 Chevrolet Camaro Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the positive battery cable on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Begin Battery Cable replacement by disconnecting the negative cable first. After removing the junction block cover and junction block nut you can disconnect the positive battery to starter cable from the junction block terminal and separate the positive Battery Cable. First destroy the remaining hood cable retainers then completely remove the floor console along with the rear seat lower cushion and the left side quarter trim panel. Make necessary adjustments to the rear compartment side trim panel before removing the pass-through grommet and cable retainers from the floor plenum while working through the floor carpet openings to disconnect all remaining retainers. Pull the battery positive cable through the carpet while keeping note of its path for future assembly. Turn the battery terminal nut to loosen it then open the positive Battery Cable terminal cover before removing the positive battery terminal. Manual workers should move the passenger compartment's positive Battery Cable into the trunk. Start by attaching the battery positive cable to the battery post then tighten the battery positive cable nut to 5.5 nm (4 lb ft). First install rear compartment battery positive cable retainers and direct the cable path through the rear seat back panel into the passenger area where additional retainers exist on both the quarter trim strip and seat area. The battery positive cable must be placed under floor carpet before secure fasteners along the left floor console edge. The pass-through grommet gets installed as installation of lower floor plenum battery positive cable retainers continues toward left quarter trim panel installation followed by rear seat lower cushion placement and floor console assembly. Completed battery positive cable routing passes through the engine bay before fastening every last expanse of hardware. Fitting the battery positive cable at the junction block terminal should be followed by attaching the battery positive starter cable to the block terminal and tightening the nut to a torque of 15 nm (11 lb ft). Reconnect the negative Battery Cable after you attach the positive Battery Cable terminal cover.
