2010 Chevrolet Colorado Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor with the Intake Air Temperature Sensor on 2010 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Engineers need to disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector before they remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor from the maf/iat sensor. Release the screws attached to the maf/iat sensor then remove it from around the air cleaner assembly. Technically handle the maf sensor because dropping it will produce damage and avoid touching the sensing elements or harming the screen on the air inlet end. The sensing elements require protection from all solvents and lubricants and installation requires a small amount of soap-based solution. Reinstall the maf/iat sensor into the air cleaner assembly while securing it with the maf/iat sensor screws tightened to 1.5 nm (13 lb in). The engine wiring harness electrical connector should be reconnected to the maf/iat sensor after installation.
