Q: How to replace the camshaft (except 6.2L (LS9) and 7.0L) on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: To replace the Camshaft (except 6.2L (LS9) and 7.0l) first to remove the engine assembly, crankshaft balancer and coil level indicator tube, left and right exhaust manifolds, water pump, intake manifold, left and right valverocker arm covers, valverocker arms, push-rods, left and right cylynder heads, value lifters. Subsequently, remove the Oil Pan-to-front cover bolts, front cover bolts (501) and the front cover (502) and its gasket (503) disposing of the old gasket. Rotate the engine in order to align the marks of timing (1, 2), remove the Camshaft sprocket bolts (206) and the Timing Chain (208) from the Camshaft sprocket (205). Replace the Camshaft, Camshaft sprocket and the Timing Chain, carefully aligning the Camshaft sprocket mark at the 6 o' clock position. Install the Camshaft sprocket bolts (206) and fasten it with 25 nm (18 lb ft). Applying a 5 mm (0.2 in) bead and 20 mm (0.8 in) long at the Oil Pan to engine block junction (a), install the front cover (502) with a new gasket (503), snugging the front cover bolts and Oil Pan to front cover bolts. Mount the en-47812 and en-47813 and tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt close enough but not too tight. Tighten the Oil Pan-to-front cover bolts and engine front cover bolts to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Now, change a new crankshaft front oil seal, valve lifters, right and left cylinder heads, valve Rocker Arm, push rods, right and left valve Rocker Arm covers, intake manifold, water pump, left and right exhaust manifolds, oil level indicator tube, crank shaft balancer and lastly, the engine assembly.
