You must start the lh door fuel tank filler pipe replacement procedure by sanitizing all fuel pipe and hose junctions and their adjacent locations to stop fuel system contamination. Drain the fuel until the bottom of the fuel tank fill hose remains below that level through removal of the fuel filler cap. The next step includes removing both filling bolts and push-pin holding the filler neck to the body frame before lifting the vehicle. First detach the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt before opening the connection between fuel fill hose and fuel fill pipe by loosening the clamp. The next step involves fuel fill pipe assembly removal. Attaching the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill hose requires proper alignment with the fuel fill pipe housing before clamping it at 2.75 nm (24 lb in). Lower the vehicle as you install the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt to a torque value of 8 nm (70 lb in). Finish the operation by adding fuel to the tank then screw on the fuel filler cap after tightening the fuel fill pipe bolts and push-pin to 6 nm (53 lb in).
