Begin the installation of the rear side door upper hinge and lower hinge by using a soft marker to mark the installation alignment around the hinge location. You should prevent SIR deployment or personal injury or unnecessary SIR system repairs by avoiding impacts to the door or door pillar near the side impact sensor (SIS) while keeping the ignition switched off with the key removed and performing procedures in the respective area. First support the door and then fully latch it on the striker before removing the hinge to door bolts and the hinge to body bolts sequentially to remove one hinge at a time. To install the hinge set the marks on the vehicle which were made during removal and fasten the bolts between the door and the body while tightening them to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Install the hinge to body bolts last while tightening them to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Afterward, inspect the door for proper alignment.
