To service the control assembly; sometime consider removing the radio and HVAC control assembly first, then the nuts from the bracket which goes across joining the radio and HVAC control assembly. Next, mount the HVAC control assembly to the radio brackets, using the right fastener in the right place, as replacement fasteners should correspond to the part number for that application. The service procedure will identify any fasteners which need replacement or-thread locking compound or sealant. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors for use on the fasteners or the joint surfaces as such things affect the torque and the clamping force, which may ruin the fastener. Obey the correct sequence and specs to avoid breaking parts and systems. Next, install nuts and tighten them to 6 N.m (53 lb in) and replace radio and hvac control assembly.
