You must start by taking out the upper Fan Shroud prior to changing the Fan Clutch. The Fan Clutch remover and installer (J46406) together with Fan Clutch wrench (J41240-5A) should be used to remove the Fan Clutch. Turn the fan hub nut counterclockwise to remove it from the Water Pump afterwards position the Fan Blade with the face down on a workbench. First extract the Fan Clutch bolts from behind the Fan Blade before you can split the Fan Clutch away from the blade. The first step for installation involves mounting the Fan Clutch bolts followed by attaching the Fan Clutch onto the Fan Blade. Remove the Fan Clutch bolts from the back side then fasten them into place with a torque of 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Fan Blade before applying the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J46406) and Fan Clutch wrench (J41240-5A) which should be tightened clockwise until reaching 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Replace the upper Fan Shroud as a last step of the process.
