Chevrolet Colorado Air Inject Check Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Inject Check Valve on Chevrolet Colorado?
    A:
The replacement of the Secondary Air Injection Check Valve requires starting with hood opening followed by air cleaner outlet duct removal. First disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet hose quick connect fitting from the air check valve after you detach the engine wiring harness electrical connector from it. Remove the air check valve studs first before you extract the air check valve installation together with its gasket that goes into disposal. Insert a new air check valve gasket between the engine and the valve before setting the air check valve in its carrying position on the engine. Place air check valve studs on their proper positions then apply torque to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Connect the engine wiring harness connector to the air check valve while installing the outlet hose quick connect fitting to the valve. After reinstalling the air cleaner outlet duct the hood should be closed.
