Start the procedure to replace the filler tube with a rear tank by first cleansing all fuel pipe and hose connections together with their nearby regions to stop fuel system contamination. Before proceeding drain all fuel from below the level of the fuel tank fill hose by removing the fuel filler cap. Start by removing the 2 retaining bolts and push-pin that keep the filler neck to the body after which you must lift the vehicle. The fuel filler tube replacement process starts with the removal of the ground strap bolt then releasing the clamp between fuel fill hose and fuel fill pipe and disconnecting the hose from the pipe before removing the assembly. The installation process requires aligning the fuel fill hose with the housing of the fuel fill pipe before clamping it down to 2.75 n.m (24 lb in). The vehicle descends after you reattach and torque the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt to 8 n.m (70 lb in).
