Chevrolet K3500 Hood Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the primary hood latch on Chevrolet K3500?
A: The replacement of the primary Hood Latch begins with hood elevation and disconnecting the release cable from the latch. Laboratory procedure starts by removing bolts (4, 5) which secure the bracket to the Hood Latch then extracting the Hood Latch from the automobile. The radiator support bracket dissociates from the support by unfastening its bolts before being taken off the vehicle structure. The adjustment process of front hood bumpers aims to level the hood top with the fenders. Attach the bracket to its position on the radiator support then hold it in place with slightly loose support bolts. Mount the primary Hood Latch onto the bracket then restore the Hood Latch release cable to connect with the latch. Follow these steps to adjust the Hood Latch bracket horizontally until the hood striker connects to the primary latch and then raise the hood finally securing the bracket bolts into the radiator support at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Adjust the Hood Latch height until it maintains a secure closure against front hood bumpers and note down this height. Render the last service by lifting the hood a second time to tighten the bracket bolts on the Hood Latch until they reach 25 n.m (18 lb ft).
