How to replace the fan clutch on Chevrolet Silverado 3500?

The first task for reinstallation of the Fan Clutch involves removing the upper Fan Shroud. First install the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to the Fan Clutch. The Water Pump fan hub nut must be removed by rotating it counterclockwise while the Fan Clutch bolts securing the Fan Blade need removal to separate the Fan Clutch from the blade. Fan Clutch bolts should go inside the Fan Blade from its rear position and receive 23 nm or 17 ft. Lbs. Torque during the installation process. You will need the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to install the fan assembly and secure the Fan Clutch while torquing the nut to 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.) in a clockwise direction. Put the upper Fan Shroud back into its original position as the last step.
