How to replace the front crankshaft seal on GMC Acadia?

The Crankshaft balancer must be the first component to remove before front Crankshaft oil seal replacement. A flat-bladed tool must be used to take out the Crankshaft oil seal but with care to minimize damage to the engine front cover or Crankshaft. Installation of these components must be done without any lubrication on the Crankshaft front oil seal and Crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The complete process of installing a new Crankshaft front oil seal requires using the oil seal installer (J 29184) followed by reinstallation of the Crankshaft balancer.
