The servicing process for the flex plate requires first removing the transmission from its place. The first step requires the removal of engine Flywheel bolts before extracting the Flywheel. An inspection of the Flywheel serves as the first step. In case of visible damage to the Flywheel teeth the Starter operation status must be checked. A new Starter needs to be installed if Starter drive damage exceeds acceptable limits. Reinstall the transmission after placing both engine Flywheel and its bolts back into the correct position.
