How to replace the liftgate hinge on GMC Acadia?

Start by taking out the liftgate and dropping the back part of the headliner to locate the bolts. Apply a grease pencil to show the hinge location on the body after that remove the hinge retaining nuts on the vehicle roof to extract the hinge. Fits the hinge to the marked positions on the vehicle body and puts in the hinge retaining nuts. Tighten the liftgate hinge stud nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the headliner on top and attach the liftgate. Adjust the liftgate as needed when you are done.
