GMC Acadia Door Lock Actuator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front side door lock actuator on GMC Acadia?
A: The replacement process of front side door lock actuators begins with door trim panel removal along with the water deflector followed by Door Latch Assembly disassembly and proceeds with removing the 2 securing screws. The two screws which keep the actuator attached to the lock need to be removed. Use a maneuver that lifts then rotates your actuator from the latch position to detach the rubber Bumper from its hook on the lock until you can take away the actuator from the latch. You must first mount the rubber Bumper onto the latch before rotating the actuator towards the latch until it fully embraces the rubber Bumper. Install the actuator on the top of the latch after confirming that its first gear tooth perfectly aligns and locks in with the first gear tooth of the latch. Position and tighten the two retaining screws on the actuator to lock until they reach 0.75 n.m (6 lb in). Reinsert the water deflector along with the lock and then establish the door trim panel into position.
