Before removing the Steering Wheel, first turn the restraints system off. Pull out the Steering Wheel inflator module and the horn plunger from the
Steering Column by pressing in to stop and turning it 90 degrees. Then, take off the Steering Wheel retaining nut. When removing the Steering Wheel the specified Steering Wheel puller j-1859-a should be used because hammering at the end of the Steering Column shaft could loosen the plastic injections suggesting supports for the rigidity of the Steering Column. Mount the j 1859-a (J 1859-A) to the Steering Wheel, and then take out the Steering Wheel with a help of j 1859-a device. After removal, install the Steering Wheel on the
Steering Shaft, then the Steering Wheel retaining nut followed by tightening it to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs). Lastly, install the horn plunger to steering colum, the Steering Wheel inflator module and activate the restraints system.
