GMC Terrain Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the intake camshaft position sensor on GMC Terrain?
A: The process for replacing the intake camshaft position sensor begins with removing the intake manifold cover together with the fuel pump cover. Remove the engine wiring harness electrical connector that belongs to the intake camshaft position CMP sensor before removing its bolt and sensor. It is essential to check the CMP sensor for damage before installation because you may need to replace it. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the CMP sensor O-ring seal before installing the sensor using its bolt which needs a torque setting of 10 Nm (89 lb in). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the intake CMP sensor while putting back the fuel pump cover and the intake manifold cover.
