  Q: How to replace the Dipstick Tube on GMC Terrain?

  A: Start the replacement of the oil level indicator tube by taking off the intake manifold cover. For the replacement start by unsticking the oil level indicator with engine harness clip from the oil level indicator tube bracket before separating the oil level indicator tube bolt and tube from the bracket. Prior to removing electrical components you should check if the oil level indicator tube requires O-ring seals replacement as well as disconnecting the electrical connector with brake vacuum pump connectors. A part of the wire must be separated from the oil level indicator tube before transferring it to replace the oil indicator pipe. The first step for installation includes adding new O-ring seals to the oil level indicator tube when necessary followed by tube installation. When tightening fasteners it is important to proceed with care followed by tightening the oil level indicator tube bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in). First fasten the engine harness clip to the bracket of the oil level indicator tube and proceed with the installation of the oil level indicator before covering the intake manifold. Reconnect both the electrical connector along with the brake vacuum pump connectors.
