You should start the ABS Control Module (ABSCM) replacement process by setting the ignition switch to off because this stops equipment damage from occurring. The first step requires eliminating the fuel injector sight shield from 3.8 l engines followed by removal of the front fender upper diagonal brace. Accomplish disconnecting first the Cruise Control Module from the left strut tower along with the accelerator control cable from its bracket without cutting the cable. Set aside the module and cables in their current locations. The procedure starts with removing the air cleaner intake duct followed by loosening the red locking tab from the connector lock tab. Subsequently detach the abscm harness connector by moving the sliding connector cover to the open position. Clean the component assembly and separate the four abscm to bpmv retainers while taking precautions against toolkit damage to the bpmv surface or solenoid valves. The abscm separation from bpmv should be conducted without excessive force. Attach the abscm to the bpmv while installing four retainers that require tightening to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Next step is to connect the abscm harness connector while pushing down the lock tab until you reach the locked position which reengages the red locking tab. After that, reinstall the air cleaner intake duct along with the module and cables and connect the Cruise Control Module at the left strut tower. Reposition the accelerator and cruise control cable to its bracket on the accelerator control cable bracket while also installing the front fender upper diagonal brace and fuel injector sight shield which applies to 3.8l engine models only. End the procedure by using the ignition key to access the run position without starting the engine and initiating the diagnostic system check - abs.
