After removing the engine Flywheel with its retainer from the Crankshaft you should clean the rear Crankshaft flange before performing an inspection of the engine Flywheel. To install the components you should place the engine Flywheel and retainer onto the Crankshaft while applying thread retaining compound to new Flywheel bolts that use gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488). The crank hub torx socket (J 42098) can be used to secure the Crankshaft for installation of new Flywheel bolts which must be tightened to 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.). Use the torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) to carry out bolt rotations on the Flywheel as follows: begin with a 30-degree angle rotation followed by another 15-degree rotation for installation of the transmission.
