    Q:
How to replace the accessory drive belt on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the replacement of the accessory Drive Belt by removing the Drive Belt followed by the Power Steering Reservoir removal. A wrench applied to the accessory Drive Belt tensioner enables belt tension release for easy removal from the power steering pulley. Proceed by removing the top bolt of the accessory Drive Belt tensioner followed by vehicle lifting for support before extracting the bottom bolt of the tensioner damper and removing the tensioner. Begin by installing the accessory Drive Belt tensioner while you should tighten its bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). First lower your vehicle and connect a wrench to the tensioner unit followed by a rotational motion that eliminates tension for belt installation across the power steering pulley. Follow the pulley route with the driven belt after tension application and ensure proper fitment of the belt in all pulleys before carefully tensioning the Drive Belt by returning the tensioner to its original position. After removing the wrench complete the reinstallation of the Power Steering Reservoir followed by installation of the Drive Belt. Check belt and accessory function after engine start.

    Q:
How to Replace a Drive Belt on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step of drive belt replacement demands installation of a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar into the belt drive tensioner followed by pushing down to reduce tension. The tensioner pulley drive belt should be removed before gently returning the tensioner to its initial position. After supporting the car you can take off the belt. The installation process requires passing the drive belt through each pulley except the drive belt tensioner pulley before lowering the vehicle to its final position. A 1/2 inch drive breaker bar should enter the drive belt tensioner to apply downward force on the tensioner before threading the belt around the tensioner pulley. After tensioning the belt proceed with full belting routing while making sure the belt takes its proper position in each of the pulleys. Use a gradual movement to return the tensioner until you restore its initial position for applying drive belt tension. The inspection process begins by checking the belt route and alignment before starting the engine to verify proper operating condition of accessories and belt function.
