Caliper Support

Begin by raising and supporting the vehicle followed by wheel and tire removal when you want to replace the front Brake Caliper Bracket. The brake caliper guide pin bolts need to be replaced whenever removal occurs so use a back up wrench for removal before discarding them. Connect heavy mechanic wire through the brake caliper to maintain it in position after separating from its mount to protect the hydraulic flexible brake hose from damage. Proceed by removing the disc brake caliper while supporting it. You should then take off the outer disc Brake Pad and inner disc Brake Pad as well as the disc Brake Pad springs. Brake Caliper Bracket bolts must be discarded before removing the disc Brake Caliper Bracket. Before installing the new disc Brake Caliper Bracket check all parts of the disc brake hardware for defects. Use two new Brake Caliper Bracket bolts for installation and torque them to 40 nm (30 lb ft) at a 90-degree angle. Put the Brake Pad springs together with the outer and inner disc pads before installing the disc caliper. You need to replace the brake caliper guide pin bolts with brand new bolts then torque them to 27 nm (20 lb ft). The tire and wheel assembly should be reinstalled as the final step.

First, raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire or an equivalent while it is disconnected from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still attached to prevent damage to the hose.
