Throttle Cable

You should start the throttle cable replacement process by taking off the left instrument panel sound insulator. First disconnect the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal and later apply force to the throttle cable cover tangs while pushing the throttle cable through the bulkhead. Start by removing the throttle cable shield when present and then remove the cable from its retaining clip and throttle body lever as well as throttle cable bracket. Record how the cable runs during removal of the vehicle's throttle cable. The installation process must avoid routing flexible components in a 50 mm (2 in) range of moving parts unless they are securely fastened to avoid creating interference or sustaining damage. The installation of the throttle cable should follow the original routing with the snap retainer to be placed through the bulkhead. Secure the throttle cable at the slot within the accelerator pedal lever before positioning the snap retainer inside this same lever. The throttle cable installation begins with attaching it to throttle body lever then throttle cable bracket before securing it within the retaining clip. Technology allows for the reinstallation of the throttle cable shield when it exists. You need to inspect the throttle opening and closing positions after the process by moving the accelerator pedal to ensure that the throttle functions smoothly between full throttle and no throttle and to put back the left instrument panel sound insulator.
