Throttle Cable

Start by depressing the Throttle Cable tangs from the pedal lever assembly before removing the cable from the assembly. Proceed by removing the cruise control cable when needed and then release the Throttle Cable lug from the Throttle Body assembly. Pull the cable through the control cable bracket by depressing its tangs and afterwards remove the cable from the bracket. Disconnect the control cable from its support clip before pulling out the cable from the vehicle. Install the Throttle Cable through the control cable bracket then push cable tabs until they expand enough for proper seating. Install the control cable lug at the Throttle Body cam before connecting the cable to the support clip. Begin by installing the cruise control cable followed by installing the cable to the pedal lever assembly where the tangs should be fully expanded for proper seat. The Throttle Cable needs to pass through the accelerator pedal rod slot before installing the retainer properly into position. Check if the cable extends entirely to the throttle cam behind the retaining clips followed by pedal operation to verify the throttle valve achieves full throttle position. Under any circumstances of improper open and close the device check for defective or warped brackets or levers. It is necessary to achieve positive control for flexible components including hoses wires and conduits before visiting within 50 mm (2.0 in) of the moving parts on the throttle linkage outboard support.

Slip the accelerator cable through the slot in the rod of the accelerator pedal and install the retainer in the rod, ensuring it is seated.

First, remove the accelerator cable from the pedal assembly and depress the cable tangs at the bulkhead to push the cable forward into the engine compartment.
