    Q:
How to replace the front parking brake cable on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before front cable repair starts it is necessary to eliminate the left cowl side panel and fold back the carpet. Support the vehicle at a height and loosen the park brake cable equalizer but to disconnect the park brake cable from its connector. Start by taking the cable end of the park brake out from its connector point along with all cable retainer points before lowering the vehicle. The J 37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043) should be used to remove the park brake cable end from the lever clevis while you detach the cable end from its position on the park brake lever. After that, you can extract the front park brake cable from the vehicle. To install the new front park brake cable the technician needs to insert the component into the vehicle and join it to the park brake lever before connecting the cable end to the clevis. The vehicle needs to be raised again while you fasten the cable to its retainers before connecting the cable end to the park brake cable connector. The park brake cable equalizer needs adjustment while you lower the vehicle until you place the carpet back before installing the left cowl side panel.
