The Hood Latch replacement process should begin by supporting the hood while it is lifted before you remove both the hood secondary catch and primary latch. A taped flat-bladed screwdriver allows safe prying of the hood primary latch Hood Cable handle from the knee bolster trim until the hood primary latch Hood Cable becomes detached from its handle. First lift and support the vehicle and then eliminate the 6 bolts coupled with 8 plastic retainers with the left front wheelhouse panel liner. The mechanic's wire needs to be extended between both ends of the hood primary latch Hood Cable. Extract the cable through the grommet before pulling it outside while unclipping the input air temperature sensor wiring harness from the Hood Latch support bracket until the hood primary latch Hood Cable detaches completely from the vehicle where the mechanic's wire remains in position for installation. You should start installation by connecting the mechanic's wire to the new hood primary latch Hood Cable then guiding it into the vehicle system. First reinstall the new hood primary latch Hood Cable to the handle before you fasten the handle back to the knee bolster trim. Reinstall the hood primary latch Hood Cable by first connecting it to the hood secondary catch and primary latch followed by installation of the hood secondary catch and primary latch. Reinstall the left front wheelhouse panel liner using 6 bolts and 8 plastic retainers and tighten these bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) after securing the input air temperature sensor wiring harness at the Hood Latch support bracket and once again supporting and raising the vehicle. Finish the restoration of the hood when you lower the vehicle and its hood.

Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the 6 bolts, 8 plastic retainers, and the left front wheelhouse panel liner.

Raise and support the vehicle again, install the left front wheelhouse panel liner using the 6 bolts and 8 plastic retainers, tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in), and then lower the vehicle and the hood.
