    Q:
How to replace the Brake Calipers on Chevrolet Aveo? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start replacing the brake caliper you have to raise and stabilize the vehicle. Note the wheel positioning before you take off the tires. Loosen and take off the brake hose fitting along with the washers to detach it from the caliper before disconnecting the hose and plugging both parts to keep the system clean and fluid-containing. Take off the brake caliper assembly by dismounting its bolts from the Steering Knuckle. When installing these parts you need to apply silicone brake lubricant (product numbers GM 89021536, ACDelco 89021537, and Canadian 89021538). Thread the caliper assembly onto its mounting bolts and fasten them to 95 nm (70 lb ft). Secure the brake hose to the caliper by attaching the washers and inlet fitting and tighten it to 40 nm. Place the front tires back and press the vehicle to the ground. Keep the vehicle stationary due to possible safety risks when driving. Press and release the brake pedal several times with the engine off to position the brake caliper and pads. Then bleed the whole brake system.
