Begin by stopping console movement with wheel blocking before you uninstall the rubber ash tray inserts and rubber mat on the console. Begin by removing the floor shift control knob and Center Console shift lever bezel (Buick only) and console storage compartment. Start by disconnecting Center Console retaining screws while making sure to set the parking brake to its maximum engagement. To access the electrical connectors pull back the rear of the console. Release the two forward trim extension ears that are attached to the lower instrument panel (Buick only), slide the console backward and raise the rear to reach the connectors. Disconnect each connector when necessary. Position the parking brake at halfway mark before removing the vehicle's Center Console. During floor console base replacement keep all components such as the HVAC Control Module (if equipped) and the armrest alongside hvac module and duct assembly and cup holder and hvac upper duct for reuse. Begin your installation by putting in the hvac upper duct first then add the cup holder and hvac module and duct assembly followed by the armrest and HVAC Control Module (if equipped). Placing the console center into position requires a fully engaged parking brake followed by electrical connector installation steps. Fully engage the two retaining ears on the front extensions to the lower instrument panel when sliding the console forward from its lowered position (Buick only). Screw down the retaining screws at 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) before installing the storage compartment and shift controller bezels (Buick model only) and floor shift control knob. Finally reinstall the rubber ash tray inserts and rubber mat to the console but wait to take out the vehicle's blocking equipment.
