    Begin your envoy front floor console replacement by removing its front ashtray gently with a flat-bladed tool. First detach the console wood shifter assembly close-out piece by lifting it slowly while rotating the panel to fit properly and secure over the shift handle. Guild the Center Console free from the passenger side toe-panel using a flat-bladed tool before disconnecting the harness connecting the instrument panel to the console. After releasing the armrest's latch you can access and unfasten the convenience tray that is housed inside the storage compartment. After removing the two fasteners securing the console to both the shifter assembly and vehicle floor you can lift the console over the floor studs to take it off the vehicle. The process of console replacement begins by disconnecting the compact disc player and amplifier and rear seat audio control from the console before preserving the console wiring harness for use on the new console. During installation first join the console wiring harness to the console before setting up the rear seat audio control together with the amplifier and compact disc player. Avoid pinching the instrument panel when working with the console wiring harness. Attach the console to the floor studs using two fasteners that you need to tighten to 10 n.m (88 lb in). After connecting the instrument panel to console wiring harness you need to properly position the passenger side toe-panel before inserting the wood shifter assembly close-out and installing the front ashtray by firm press-down.

    To remove the front floor console (full Length (manual trans)), remove the shift control lever, Cup Holder insert and screws that secure the trim plate to the console, then remove that trim plate. Slide open the cover of the storage compartment and take off the storage compartment. Then remove nuts that attach the console to the vehicle and if it is equipped disconnect electrical connector, you can pull the console out. For installation, set the console back into the vehicle and reconnect the electrical connector if provided. Install the nuts to fasten the console, torque it up to 10 n.m (88 lb in), then the storage compartment. Reattach the trim plate to the console and screw fix it making sure it is tight at 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Lastly, reinstall the Cup Holder insert and the shift control lever.
