    Q:
How to Replace the Center Console Without RPO Code UV8 on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
First disable sir then set the parking brake to replace the console when rpo code uv8 is absent. Start by removing storage bins or cd changer units and remove console trim pieces followed by left and right console trim panels. Unplug the electrical connectors (1,2,3) from the Center Console after taking off the floor storage bin cover itself. Next disconnect the shifter cable and park lock cable from the shifter and complete the process by removing the storage bin floor cover and Center Console electrical connectors. Climb to the rear seating position to access fasteners that secure metal bracket arms to the floor before removing the 2 Floor Pan attached nuts then 2 fasteners that link the console to the lower instrument panel. Take caution when lifting metal brackets to prevent them from damaging the seat surfaces. Remove the console by lifting its rear and sliding it toward the back of the vehicle. To begin assembly position the console on the floor and connect electrical wiring while sliding the Center Console toward the lower ip before placing the rear studs on their location. Secure the 2 fasteners from the Center Console to the lower ip using 2 n.m (18 lb in) torque before installing the 2 nuts to floor studs in the Center Console compartment at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Use 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque to tighten the fasteners installed in the metal bracket arms on the console before connecting the electrical connectors (1,2,3) across both console sides. Place the storage bin floor cover in position followed by parking lock cable attachment to shifter then Shift Cable connection to shifter. To finish up install the left and right console panels followed by the console trim plate and storage bins or cd changer if needed then enable the sir.
