    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shifter lever on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
The correct procedure for sir system disconnection should be followed before starting an automatic transmission shift lever replacement. First slide the shift lever seal ahead of the shift lever and if necessary remove the steering column trim covers. The base of the column needs shift lever connector removal before you remove the shift lever assembly's screw. Disconnect and remove both the linear shift assembly's shift lever and seal through the process of sliding the seal towards its narrow shift lever section. First put the shift lever seal in position on the small section of the shift lever assembly and next reinstall the assembly into the linear shift system. Screw the shift lever screw into the shift lever assembly before tightening it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Slowly guide the shift lever seal to reach the bottom of the shift lever assembly and position it against the steering column trim covers. Enable the sir system after installing the steering column trim covers when required.

    Q:
How to Properly Replace an Automatic Transmission Shifter on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for shifting the automatic transmission shift lever requires disabling the sir system. Install the shift lever seal by moving it toward the top of the shift lever before you take out any trim cover from the steering column. To start you must disconnect the shift lever connector at the base of the column whereas the shift lever screw needs removal from the shift lever assembly. The linear shift assembly must receive the shift lever and seal through a process where the shift lever seal needs sliding direction towards the narrow shift lever section for removal. Implement the shift lever seal to the shift lever assembly before you connect the assembly to the linear shift assembly. The shift lever screw requires installation into the shift lever assembly with a torques setting up to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Place the shift lever seal at the bottom edge of the shift lever assembly before positioning it towards the steering column trim covers. The process should be completed by first reattaching steering column trim covers followed by sir system activation.
