    When replacing the Automatic Transmission Shift Levers start by taking off the console before removing the rear air duct front support nuts and the console rear support nuts. Continue by disconnecting the supports and sliding the air duct rearward. You should slide the air duct towards the back to detach it and disconnect the automatic transmission control electrical connector. After vehicle support use the appropriate method to extract each of the linkage elements from the shift lever. The five body rivets need drilling before control body removal when replacing the automatic transmission control. Fasten the automatic transmission control to the body through installation by using five rivets. After vehicle elevation and proper vehicle support the automatic transmission shift linkage must be installed to the shift lever followed by lowering the vehicle. From this point connect the electrical connector to the automatic transmission control while moving the rear air duct installation forward then set the console rear support into its place. Fasten the console rear support with its attaching nuts (2) while tightening them to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.) and the rear air duct front support nuts (1) to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). You need to install the console assembly before performing shift linkage adjustment.

After raising the vehicle you should install the shift control linkage to the shift lever then lower the vehicle. After reattaching the automatic transmission control electrical connector users should position the rear air duct forward to install it while also installing the console rear support along with the console assembly. Secure the rear air duct front support nuts before tightening them to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.) and then perform shift linkage adjustment.
