    Q:
How to replace the brake master cylinder on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Brake Master Cylinder, disconnect the electrical connection from the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and the brake pipes connected to the master cylinder; ensure putting in proper rubber caps or plugs on the uncovered brake pipe end of the master cylinder to avoid fluid loss and contamination. Then, plug the free ends of the brake pipes and disconnect the master cylinder from the vehicle by removing the mounting nuts, and removing the master cylinder from the vehicle draining all of its brake fluid from the reservoir. Bench bleed new master cylinder and then install it to the Brake Booster while you install the master cylinder mounting nuts to a torque of 29 nm (21 ft. Lbs). Take off the plugs from the brake pipes, attach the brake pipes to the master cylinder, and tighten the fittings to 24 nm (18 ft-lbs). Lastly, reconnect the electrical connector back to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and bleed the hydraulic brake system.
