    Open the rear compartment to start the replacement procedure by removing the back up lamp. Unclip the latch release cable from the lid lock cylinder and remove these fasteners which attach the lid lock cylinder to the rear compartment lid. Put the new lid lock cylinder into position on the rear compartment lid then fix it according to fastener notice directions. Place the lid lock cylinder into position on the rear compartment lid then fasten it using the provided fasteners. Throughout this step tighten each fastener until they reach 80 pound inch settings. Use the latch release cable to mount it back on the lid lock cylinder. Then put the back up lamp in its original place. Test the lock cylinder's performance before putting the rear compartment shut.

Place the lid lock cylinder onto the rear compartment lid before you install it according to fastener notice instructions. Put the fasteners into the lid lock cylinder and tighten them to 80 pounds of force (9 N.m). Secure the locking cable into the lid lock unit and put back the back up lamp. After testing the cylinder movement check its performance and put the rear compartment closed.
