Lock Cylinder, Rear

To install the new lock cylinder in the rear compartment lid you must first take out the tail lamp before disconnecting the latch cable from the old lock cylinder. Remove the lock cylinder from the rear compartment lid by taking out its three fasteners. Reposition the lock cylinder onto the lid space and maintain a safe distance from the fastener notice during installation. Attach the lock cylinder to the lid by using three fasteners and tightening them to 80 lb in (9 N.m). Reattach the lock cable to the cylinder before putting back the back up lamp assembly.

By removing the tail lamp assembly first you access the rear compartment lid lock cylinder which you need to dismount from its latch cable. Unscrew the three hardware joints that hold the cylinder to the lid part before pulling the lock cylinder out from the rear compartment. You must insert the lock cylinder into the lid space while keeping to the fastener notice provided in service precautions. Use three fasteners to connect the lock cylinder to the lid unit and tighten them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Secure the latch cable onto the lock cylinder then put the back up lamp back into place.

Attach the lock cylinder rod and arm using the E-clip.

Take off the E-clip on the lock cylinder.

Attach them to the lock cylinder with the E-clip.

Reinstall the outside door handle, followed by the water deflector, and finally, the door trim panel.
