    Q:
How to replace the A/C Switch in the HVAC Control Assembly on Chevrolet Tracker? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the A/C Switch, you should start by removing mode control cable at the heater case and disconnect the defroster switch if equipped. Take off the two screws and necessary defroster switch, and then pull the temperature control cable from the heater case. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment by pressing into the left and right ends and lowering the ipp. Unplug removed the fresh/recirc control cable at the blower case and disconnect the A/C Switch connector if equipped. Next, take the ip cluster trim bezel off, pull knobs from the levers, and pry the heater control fascia from the A/C Switch, being very gentle with the latter to avoid separating the cover from the control that others cannot put back on. Twist, disconnect the bulb socket, and then disconnect the three screws. Tilt the heater control unit to one side and pull through the ip to disconnect the blower switch electrical connector and remove the heater control unit with cables connected and recording the cable routing position for installation. If required, strip off the blower switch and A/C Switch off of the heater control unit. Remove each control cable from heater control unit by carefully working the temperature control cable sheath, mode control cable sheath and fresh/recirc control cable from the unit back and off the lever arms. Although connect the control cable to the heater control unit by inserting the end of the cables into the hole in the lever arm, after putting the sheath over the cable, align the sheath with the sheath retainer and slide it into the sheath retainer until it locks. Mount the A/C Switch and blower switch to the heater control unit as needed, locate the cables, tilt the heater control unit to a side, and mount it to the ip. Attach the blower switch electrical connector, bulb socket, and heater control fascia to the A/C Switch and tighten it using the three screws. You will need to reinstall the knobs to levers, the ip cluster trim bezel, and the A/C Switch connector if equipped. Mount the fresh/recirc control cable onto the pin of the fresh/recirc door and fasten it to the clip at the side heater case. Get rid of the ip compartment then access the heating control wire and mode control cord to the heater case. Lastly, link the defroster switch in case you have one and reassemble the defroster switch if taken off, securing it with the two screws, and change the control cables as needed.
