Structural integrity of the seat belt system becomes essential for safety reasons after every collision. All seat belt systems that experienced automatic restraint deployments from collision forces need to receive replacement following the collision event. All restraint systems for adults along with those for child restraints and infant carriers and booster seats require replacement when they include LATCH system and top tether anchorages. A replacement should be conducted for any seat belt system that displays torn or worn elements as well as damaged components that include adult seat belts with built-in child restraints along with LATCH system components. The seat belt system requires replacement when either "REPLACE" or "CAUTION" markings become visible or when a yellow tag appears therefore you should replace the belt system but do not eliminate a seat belt merely by noticing child seat caution indicators. All components that secure infant carriers, child restraints and booster seats need replacement when the seat belt system condition poses any uncertainty. Motorists must replace all components of seat belt systems from crashed cars together as a unit rather than replacing buckles and retractors separately. When minor collisions occurred without automatic restraint use, additional replacement of components only needs to happen if worn parts are detected or if any torn/damaged items are located.
