Control Module

First remove the fuel pipe shield attached to the frame bracket using the removal of its 2 nuts. The Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit space should receive complete cleaning to stop ABS component contamination. Start by detaching ABS Control Module electrical connectors before you uninstall the 4 T-25 Torx screws which mount the ABS Control Module to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Remove the ABS Control Module from the BPMV with gentle force since extra pressure puts the ABS Control Module at risk. Use a clean cloth to clean the mounting areas of the BPMV that will attach to the ABS Control Module. New screws must be utilized for ABS Control Module installation because they replace the discarded mounting screws. Sealing materials like RTV along with other sealants must not be applied on the ABS Control Module gasket or joint surfaces. The ABS Control Module should be fitted onto the BPMV by using the 4 new T-25 Torx screws and tightening them to 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) according to an X-pattern placement. Connect electrical connectors to the ABS Control Module after which install the module between the frame bracket and fuel pipe shield by tightening the two nuts. Set the tire dimensions through the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function as the last step.

The service and repair process of the ABS Control Module begins with removing the fuel pipe shield from the frame bracket through the removal of the two nuts. Clean all debris surrounding the Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) until the area demonstrates no loose dirt particles because this prevents disassembly contamination of ABS components. Remove the ABS Control Module by disconnecting its electrical connectors before removing the four Torx Screws which mount the ABS Control Module onto the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Remove the ABS Control Module from the BPMV using minimal effort because applied force higher than required can lead to ABS Control Module damage. The BPMV and ABS Control Module mounting surfaces should be wiped clean with a dry cloth. For the new ABS Control Module installation keep away from reusing existing mounting screws because you should use fresh ones. RTV sealant along with other products should not be applied either to the ABS Control Module gasket or to its mating surfaces. Fitting the ABS Control Module onto the BPMV requires application of four new T-25 Torx screws which should be tightened to 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) while following an X-pattern sequence. First connect all electrical connectors to the ABS Control Module before installing the module on the frame bracket and fuel pipe shield with two nuts and performing tire calibration revision through the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function.

Clean the BPMV to EBCM mounting surfaces with a clean cloth.

Install the EBCM onto the BPMV and secure it with the four new T-25 Torx(R) screws, tightening them to 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) in an X-pattern.
