    Q:
How to replace the front brake disc on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting the Brake Disc replacement you must lift and secure your vehicle plus take out both wheel and tire parts. Use j 141013 c-clamp to push the piston toward the caliper until the brake caliper can be slid from the disc then take away the clamp. Fix the brake caliper in place with strong mechanic's wire to maintain hydraulic hose safety during replacement. Pull out the brake caliper with its attached pads after disconnecting it and make sure the hydraulic brake hose has no strain. Position the Brake Disc on the wheel studs according to your matchmarks and take off the Brake Disc. Use wheel hub resurfacing kit j 42450-a to cleanse the hub/axle flange then employ rotor resurfacing kit j 141013 to clean the Brake Disc interface surfaces. Check both sides of the Brake Disc for particles before you attach it to the hub/axle flange. Keep the disc in the correct position by using the matchmark for guidance. Test how laterally the Brake Disc moves while mounted to check its performance level. Once the measurement reaches beyond acceptable standards take necessary action to make it work right. Rearrange the caliper unit on the Steering Knuckle before setting the tire and wheel assembly and lowering the vehicle back to ground level. After changing the brake pads and disc, you should create a smooth surface between them through a braking process.
