You should first raise the vehicle while supporting it and then remove the tire and wheel before starting the disc replacement process. Press the piston into the brake caliper using a c-clamp but not enough to cause damage. Move away the c-clamp when the operation is complete. Use strong mechanic wire or substitute to hold up the brake caliper without hurting the hydraulic flexible brake hose. Detach the caliper bracket bolts while leaving the brake hose bolt intact to take off the combined brake caliper and bracket piece from the suspension knuckle without placing tension on the hydraulic system. Position the Brake Disc on matching wheel studs and take it off from the vehicle. Clean all dust and corrosion from the hub/axle joint and Brake Disc faces before installation using the wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013). Examine both disc surfaces before you put the Brake Disc on the hub/axle flange by lining up the matchmarks. Test the lro values of the Brake Disc system after assembly and correct the setup when measurements breach their set limits. Put the brake components back in their proper places on the suspension knuckle and add tire and wheel assemblies. As a final step lower the vehicle and prepare to smooth new disc surfaces when needed during pad Brake Pad installation.

Vehicle maintenance requires users to lift and stabilize the vehicle before they remove the tire and wheel assembly when replacing a front Brake Disc. A c-clamp should compress the Piston toward the caliper bore which lets the caliper slide away from the disc and then you can remove the c-clamp. After disconnecting the caliper bracket bolts the mechanic should remove the brake caliper and caliper mounting bracket assembly from the suspension knuckle while using heavy mechanic's wire for supportive equipment to avoid impacting the hydraulic brake hose. Mark the relationship between the Brake Disc and wheel studs before taking it off. The wheel hub resurfacing kit (J42450-A) should be used to clean rust or corrosion from the hub/axle flange before cleaning the Brake Disc mating surfaces with the rotor resurfacing kit (J41013). Before integrating the Brake Disc into the hub/axle flange check all mating surfaces are clear of debris then use the matchmark to establish proper disc orientation. Measure the lateral runout of the assembled Brake Disc after installation when possible and adjust if measurements exceed set specifications. Reinstall the brake caliper and bracket to the suspension knuckle before installing the tire and wheel assembly followed by lowering the vehicle and conducting pad and disc burnishing when Brake Disc replacement or refinishing took place.

Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire to prevent damage to the hydraulic flexible brake hose.

Use the Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit (J42450-A) to clean any rust or corrosion from the hub/axle flange mating surface.

Lower the vehicle and, if the brake rotor was refinished or replaced, burnish the pads and rotors.
