    Q:
How to service and repair the Throttle Body on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, make sure no solvent is used in gasket surfaces for Intake Manifold and Throttle Body assembly in order to prevent their destruction. Pull off the negative Battery Cable, then pull the air cleaner resonator off the Throttle Body. Next, unplug the electrical connector from idle air control (IAC) valve and throttle position (TP) sensor as well as vacuum hoses from the Throttle Body. In the case of being equipped, disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable, as well as the accelerator cable bracket. Remove the Throttle Body attaching bolts and pull out the Throttle Body from the Intake Manifold. When installing, clear the loose carbon particles from the evap canister. Install the Throttle Body and the accelerator cable bracket and tighten Throttle Body attaching bolts to a torque rating of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Attach the accelerator cable and cruise control cable if available as well as the vacuum hoses. After connecting the electrical connectors to the tp sensor and iac valve, let us try to reinstall the air cleaner resonator. When the engine is silenced, make sure the accelerator pedal is unclutched by pressing it to the floor and then releasing it. Finally, reconnect the negative Battery Cable and adjust iac valve pintle position by igniting the vehicle igniting to off for ten seconds and again igniting the engine to verify idle behavior.
