Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct, then take the evaporating emissions (EVAP) canister purge pipe off from the throttle control module and remove the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the Throttle Body control module. Then disengage the throttle control module bolts and pull out the Throttle Body control module with the seal from the Intake Manifold making sure to clean off the gasket surface. To install it, insert a new seal in the Intake Manifold groove and mount the Throttle Body control module to the Intake Manifold making sure you comply with the fastener notice. Attach the Throttle Body control module bolts and tighten them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the Throttle Body control module and the evap canister pipe purge pipe to the Throttle Body control module and then install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.

To remove the Throttle Body assembly, first download the negative Battery Cable followed by the removal of air cleaner outlet duct and study the air cleaner adapter. Remove the cruise control cable and the accelerator cable from the Throttle Body, after which remove the nuts that hold the accelerator routing bracket in place and set it aside. Finally, take off the stud and nuts holding the accelerator control cable bracket and place it away also. Disconnect both the idle air control (IAC) valve harness connector and the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector, remove Throttle Body retaining studs, and Throttle Body assembly, then eliminate Throttle Body seal. Clean the seal surface on the Intake Manifold and then fit the Throttle Body assembly with a new seal and fix in with the tightening of the retaining studs to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Mount the accelerator control cable bracket to the mounting stud and nuts using a torque of 12 n.m (106 lb in), and the accelerator cable routing bracket nuts using torque of 9 n.m goo ft lbs in). Connect the accelerator cable and check there is no jamming in the accelerator pedal, then attach cruise control cable. Connect the tp sensor and iac valve harness connectors, install the air cleaner adapter stud and tighten it to 8 n.m (71 lb in) and install the air cleaner outlet duct. To check the acceleration pedal movement, activate the ignition while the engine is off, and apply a scan tool to monitor the tp sensor parameter, step on the accelerator pedal to the floor, release it, and ensure that the throttle position should move from 0-100 percent to 0 percent confirming that the accelerator pedal should be free from binding between the closed and the wide open throttle (WOT).

To remove the Throttle Body assembly (W/O ETC) to remove air intake duct then remove the accelerator control cable and cruise control cable from the Throttle Body after disconnecting then remove the vacuum hose, throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors. Next, unscrew the Throttle Body attaching nuts and remove the Throttle Body with the gasket and dispose of the gasket by disconnecting the coolant hose and the vapor vent pipe. Carefully clean off the old gasket from the aluminum surfaces using sharp tools to avoid destroying the sealing surfaces. It is important that one does not submerge the Throttle Body simply into a cold type cleaner that works by immersion; the reason being there are certain sealing compounds applied by the factory to the throttle plate and can easily be damaged by rough solvents or brushing; instead, try a spray type cleaner, such as gm x-66a or p/n gm1052626 and a shop towel for heavy deposits. Make sure no solvent or cleaner touches the tp sensor and iac valve. Clean the gasket sealing surfaces before assembly. Mount the Throttle Body by using a new gasket, while adhering to the fastener notice in service precautions, and tighten the attaching nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect the coolant hose to the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe, accelerator control cable and cruise control cable, tp sensor and iac valve electrical connectors, and the vacuum hose to the Throttle Body. Reinstall the air intake duct and with the engine off, check the accelerator pedal movement to the floor by pressing and releasing. To reset iac valve, turn on the ignition for 10 seconds followed by turning it off for 5 seconds, then start the engine to test for the idle speed.
