    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct, then take the evaporating emissions (EVAP) canister purge pipe off from the throttle control module and remove the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the Throttle Body control module. Then disengage the throttle control module bolts and pull out the Throttle Body control module with the seal from the Intake Manifold making sure to clean off the gasket surface. To install it, insert a new seal in the Intake Manifold groove and mount the Throttle Body control module to the Intake Manifold making sure you comply with the fastener notice. Attach the Throttle Body control module bolts and tighten them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the Throttle Body control module and the evap canister pipe purge pipe to the Throttle Body control module and then install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.

    Q:
How to clean the throttle body properly on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
First disconnect the air cleaner outlet duct to examine the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits while opening the throttle valve to inspect all surfaces. Throttle position (TP) sensors together with idle air control (IAC) valves and sealed throttle shaft bearings should never come into contact with immersion cleaning liquids and strong solvents due to the potential for damage to component seals and o-rings as well as loss of non-serviceable throttle shaft bearing grease. Avoid both wire brushes and scrapers because they can cause harm to Throttle Body parts and abstain from using cleaners with methyl ethyl ketone since this chemical destroys elements needlessly. For Throttle Body cleaning use a clean shop towel and top engine cleaner (Saturn P/N 21007129) or an equivalent product to clean the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate. Thorough cleaning of excessive deposits requires Throttle Body disassembly using a parts cleaning brush which should never touch solvents. Reinstall the Throttle Body following cleaning and replace the air cleaner outlet duct.
