In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, first remove the air cleaner assembly then the accelerator control cable, the cruise control cable and the vacuum hose. Then, disconnect throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors, as well as disconnect coolant hoses from the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe. Take out the Throttle Body attaching nuts, then remove the Throttle Body and the gasket and get rid of the old one. Care would be exercised to not destroy the sealing surfaces when removing the old gasket from the aluminum surfaces and also avoid soaking the Throttle Body in cold immersion type cleaner since the throttle plate has sealing compound factory applied. For cleaning, use a spray type cleaner like gm x-66a or gm p/n 1052626 and make sure that the tp sensor does not touch any solvent or cleaner, same as with the iac valve. For installation, pick the Throttle Body with a new gasket, tighten it with its attaching nuts at 10 n.m (89 lb in), and reconnect the coolant hoses, accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, tp sensor, iac valve's electrical connectors, and vacuum hoses. At last, reinstall the air cleaner assembly and make sure the accelerator pedal moves freely when the engine is off, and recheck the iac valve by turning the ignition on for 10 seconds, off for 5 seconds, and starting the engine to check the idle speed.
