    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Initial steps are to disconnect the negative Battery Cable, take off the engine cover, and get rid of the air cleaner outlet resonator and the air cleaner outlet resonator adapter stud. Then, you should detach the cruise control cable along with the accelerator cable, take out the stud and nuts from the accelerator control cable bracket, and lay it aside. Remove both the (IAC) valve harness connector and the (TP) sensor harness connector, and then take out the Throttle Body retaining studs and the Throttle Body assembly, throwing away the old Throttle Body seal. Clean the part of the Intake Manifold where the gasket goes, then put in the Throttle Body assembly using a new seal and tighten the retaining studs to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Put the air cleaner outlet resonator adapter stud back in, tightening it to 8 n.m (71 lb in), and then plug in the tp sensor and iac valve harness. Install the accelerator cable bracket with fasteners tightened to 12 n.m (106 lb in), being sure the accelerator and cruise control cables do not prevent the throttle from closing all the way. Install both the accelerator cable and the cruise control cable, add the air cleaner outlet resonator and put on the engine cover, and finally reconnect the negative Battery Cable. To finish, apply pressure to the accelerator pedal all the way and release it, checking that it operates smoothly with no binding from closed to wide open throttle.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Throttle Body on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of serving and repairing the Throttle Body requires that the spot which is to be repaired is disconnected from its negative cable, engine cover, air cleaner outlet duct, and air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud removed. Then, take off the cruise control cable and accelerator cable and then remove the stud and the nuts that hold the accelerator control cable bracket in place and put the bracket to the side. Relocate the iac valve harness connector and the tp sensor harness connector, then remove the Throttle Body retaining studs and the Throttle Body assembly, which needs to be discarded and included with the Throttle Body seal. For installation, clean the gasket surface of Intake Manifold and install Throttle Body assembly with new seal while the Throttle Body assembly retaining studs need to be tightened to 9 n. M (80 lb in). Install air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud by tightening it to 8 n.m (72 lb in); link tp sensor and the iac valve harness connectors. Replace the accelerator control cable the engine using the fasteners in a 12n.m (108 lb in) turn, make sure the accelerator and cruise control cables do not keep the throttle arms opened. Proceed to install the accelerator cable, cruise control cable etc and air cleaner outlet duct and the engine cover, then reconnect the negative Battery Cable. Finally, inspect the accelerator pedal operation by pressing to the floor and releasing and ensuring it moves freely without binding between full and closed throttle.
