Throttle Body is known for dependability and merit; it integrates a butterfly valve that modulates to the accelerator input to allow the perfect amount of air intake; the PCM, on the other hand, controls the fuel delivery. This helps to improve efficiency and especially safety because newer cars such as Chevrolet Metro now use Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) where throttle operation and stability systems are combined. The Chevrolet Metro has experienced use of different throttle body throughout the years, from Throttle Body Injection (TBI) prior to multi-port fuel injection systems in later models, to adapt with various Metro models. It is for such a reason that the Throttle Body is vital so as to adhere to the indicated performance benchmarks. However, they are quite consistent and used in this context they should not pose a problem although one need to check occasionally for wear or for accumulation of material that may alter the force exerted. Other features include, it has a cleaning or replaceable feature that even accommodates the Throttle Position Sensor and Idle Air Control valve thus adding the extra year to Throttle Body. In general, the Throttle Body is particular among automobile institutes since it significantly contributes to providing comfortable and safe car driving experience that can be obtained while operating Chevrolet Metro, a reliable subcompact car.

Chevrolet Metro Throttle Body Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Body Assembly (SFI) on Chevrolet Metro?
    A:
Drain the engine's coolant to replace the Throttle Body assembly (SFI). Unscrew the bolt and the air inlet duct resonator from the intake plenum and remove the breather hose from the valve cover and the air inlet duct from the Throttle Body. Twist the throttle lever to wide open throttle position and pull the accelerator cable end out of slot in the throttle lever. The process involves removing the iac valve electrical connector and the tp sensor electrical connector as well as two sets of cooling hoses from the iac valve coolant fittings. Take off the 2 nuts and 2 bolts that are used to fasten the Throttle Body to the intake plenum, then lift out the Throttle Body and gasket. Put Throttle Body and a new gasket on the intake plenum and fasten the latter by bolts and nuts (fastened to 18-23 N.m or 13.5-17 lb ft). Re attach the 2 coolant hoses to the iac valve coolant fittings and iac valve electrical connector , as well as the tp sensor electrical connector . Turn the throttle lever to the wide open throttle position, then insert the accelerator cable end in the slot in the throttle lever. Fasten the air inlet duct to the Throttle Body and clamp it down , reconnect the hose for breather to the valve cover . Finally, bolt the air inlet duct resonator to the intake plenum and fix it with the bolt and refill the cooling system.
