• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?

  A: As a replacement for the Throttle Body assembly, first relieve the fuel system pressure and drain the engine coolant system. Remove the air cleaner (ACL) from the Throttle Body fuel injection (TBI) unit, and then remove the throttle position (TP) sensor, fuel tank Fuel Injector and the idle speed control (ISC) motor electrical connector then disconnect. Then remove the clamp and the fuel feed hose, then the clamp and the fuel return hose from the tbi unit as well as the vacuum hoses and the two engine coolant hoses. Relieve the accelerator cable locknut and turn the throttle lever to the wide open position and remove cable end from throttle lever slot and accelerator cable from the cable bracket. Leave the four bolts that secure the tbi unit. For the installation, attach a new gasket over the hole in the early fuel evaporation (EFE) heater, install the tbi unit to the efe heater, and fix it using the 4 bolts (23 N.m 17 lb ft). Put the accelerator cable back on the cable bracket and turn the throttle lever to wide open, and put the cable end in a slot of the throttle lever. Subsequently, attach the vacuum hoses and the two engine coolant hoses to the tbi unit then attaching the fuel return and the fuel feed hose and tightening them with clamps. Reconnect the isc motor electrical connector, fuel injector electrical connector, and tp sensor electrical connector. Fill up the engine coolant system to the correct level and attach the negative Battery Cable and tighten the terminal retainer to 5.5 n.m (49 lb in). Turn on one of the ignitions to pressurize the fuel system, then turn off and check for leaks of fuel. Finally, tweak the accelerator cable and the tp sensor when necessary.
