The following steps should be undertaken to remove the Throttle Body without etc replace, but first, remove the duct for the air intake, then the accelerator control cable and the cruise control cable from the Throttle Body since then disconnecting the vacuum tube, throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors. Secondly, detatch the coolant hose from the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe, remove the Throttle Body attaching nuts and remove out the Throttle Body along with the gasket removing the never to be used gasket. It is essential to avoid submerging the Throttle Body in a cold immersion type cleaner because of the factory-applied sealing compound onto the throttle plate that inhibits the air for going to bypass at closed throttle; rather, you should try a spray type cleaner like gm x-66a or gm p/n 1052626 and a shop towel with heavy deposits, and make sure the ti sensor, and iac valve do not get in contact with any solvent or cleaner. Before fitting the Throttle Body with a new gasket, clean the surfaces that form the seal against the gasket, tightening the nuts that attach the Throttle Body using 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the coolant hose to the Throttle Body as well as the vapor vent pipe, accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, then the tp sensor, iac valve electrical, and the vacuum hoses. Replace the air intake duct and with the engine off, make sure the accelerator pedal is moving smoothly by pushing down to the floor, and let go. To reset the iac valve, turn on ignition 10 seconds, turn off ignition 5 seconds, start the engine to verify correct idle speed.
